Under the auspices of the DG Connect of the European Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture in Morocco, the event is organized by Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique, Direction de la Stratégie et des Statistiques, and Direction de la Météorologie Nationale.
The dissemination event scheduled in Rabat, Morocco, will focus on the Operational Crop Monitoring and Forecasting system “CGMS-MAROC” developed in Morocco as one of the achievements realised within E-AGRI project.
The Program will be highlighted by :
- Presentation of the ministry of agriculture on food security policy in Morocco
- Presentation of the European Commission on collaboration in agriculture sector with Morocco
- Presentation of the European Commission on collaboration on ICT between EU and Morocco

E-AGRI is a project funded by the European Commission in the 7th framework Programme (FP7). It aims to disseminate the crop monitoring technologies developed by European institutions in Africa and Asia.
The objective of this training workshop is to bring together the partners of the project, as weII as other stakeholders in the field, familiarize and standardize the approach for crop yield forecasting using remote sensing. The test areas in Morocco and in the Province of Anhui, China wiII be used as the study cases.
The workshop is the first E-AGRI event scheduled in the implementation of the project and organized by INRA, in collaboration with VITO.
