INRA (Morocco) and ACIAR (Australia) A Partnership of Excellence for the Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Research Rabat, February 10, 2026

Meeting between INRA (Morocco) and ACIAR (Australia) and Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding

The National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) will host, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m., an official delegation from ACIAR (Australia) led by His Excellency the Ambassador of Australia to Morocco.

This visit is part of the strengthening of bilateral scientific and technical relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Australia in the fields of agriculture, innovation, and climate resilience, within the framework of the Australian‑led initiative (AAPCRA), which aligns with the RDI–Green Generation Morocco strategy

On the sidelines of this meeting, the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will take place between the Director of INRA, Prof. Lamiae Ghaouti, and the Executive Director of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), Dr. Nick Austin.

Through this Memorandum of Understanding, both parties commit to establishing the foundations of a structured cooperation focused on:

  • Developing joint agricultural research projects;
  • Capacity building, training, and exchange of expertise;
  • Innovation in climate‑smart agriculture;
  • Networking among researchers and valorization of scientific results;
  • Promoting collaborative approaches for sustainable and resilient agriculture.

This visit will also provide an opportunity for fruitful exchanges between Moroccan and Australian experts on collaboration prospects regarding priority research areas and the strategic opportunities offered by this bilateral partnership.

INRA welcomes this new cooperation framework, which will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing and strengthening national research and innovation capacities for sustainable agricultural development in Morocco..

This press release serves as an invitation to your media teams to cover this event and provide extensive media coverage, including interviews with the respective Directors of the institutions (INRA and ACIAR) as well as other prominent personalities.
